Let’s celebrate World Chocolate Day with a bit of a twist! Add a bit of zing to steak, beef roast or a cut of venison (we’d recommend medium rare kudu or springbok loin) with this delicious Chilli Chocolate sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750ml) of decent red wine
- 500ml beef stock
- 1 bar of 70%-80% cocoa dark chocolate
- 1 red chilli (roughly cut)
- 1tsp brown sugar
- Salt and pepper for seasoning
To make the sauce
Place wine, stock and sugar in a small pot on medium heat and let it simmer until it has reduced by half
Place cut chilli in pot and simmer for a further 10 minutes
Remove pot from heat
Break up the chocolate into small pieces and place into the pot to melt into the sauce
Season with a touch of salt and good grinding of black pepper
Serve over your choice of meat
