OUMA’S LEGENDARY CRUSTLESS MILK TART

YIELDS 1 TART

INGREDIENTS

• 3 tsp butter, melted

• 1 cup white sugar

• 3 egg yolks

• 1 cup cake flour

• 1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 4 cups milk

• 3 egg whites

• 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar

METHOD

• Pre-heat oven to 190°C and coat a large Twinsaver Foil Tart dish with vegetable oil cooking spray.

• In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg yolks and beat until light and fluffy. Sift in the cake flour, baking powder and salt, stir until well blended. Mix in the vanilla and milk.

• In a seperate bowl, whip the egg whites to stiff peaks using an electric mixer. Fold into the batter.

• Pour into the prepared tart dish, and sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top.

• Bake for 25 minutes in a preheated oven, then reduce the temperature to 165°C. Continue to bake for 25 – 30 minutes, or until the centre is set.

• Serve cold with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
